Ronald L. (Ron) Lienemann has served as president and chief executive officer of RushShelby Energy Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) since its formation in 1999. He came to Rush County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC) in 1987 as the general manager. In 1996, he became a shared manager, leading both Rush County REMC and neighboring Shelby County REMC through the consolidation process to form RushShelby Energy.
The son of a Nebraska electric cooperative general manager, Ron has dedicated his career to the electric cooperative industry. He began his career at Midwest Electric Membership Corporation, and over the course of his 11 years there, he rose from a power use advisor to become assistant general manager.
Ron serves as director for several organizations, including RSE Propane, RSE Services, Rush County Economic and Community Development Corporation, SCI Propane and Shelby County Development Corporation. In addition, he is treasurer of the Rushville Community Center.
Ron Lienemann has bachelor’s degrees in business administration and political science from Wayne State College and has taken NRECA management courses through the University of Nebraska.
