Tim Bryan
Chief Executive Officer
NRTC’s board chose Tim Bryan to lead the organization at an important phase in its history. He joins the organization at a time when it seeks to invest in, develop, and deploy new advanced telecommunications and Smart Grid businesses that will help NRTC members, their customers, and NRTC thrive. He has been NRTC CEO since August 1, 2011.
Prior to joining NRTC, Bryan was CEO of ICO Global, a company controlled by mobile phone industry pioneer Craig McCaw. The domestic portion of ICO Global was sold to Dish Networks for $1.4 billion earlier in 2011. Prior to joining ICO in November 2005, Bryan was chief financial officer for Eagle River, a holding company that included McCaw investments in Nextel Communications, Nextel Partners, XO Communications, ICO Global Communications, and Teledesic Communications. Tim served on the Boards of Directors of ICO and Nextel, and also served on the Board of Open TV, a Liberty Media affiliate.
Bryan has international telecommunications experience, having served as President of United Pan-Europe Communications during the late 1990s. UPC operated cable TV and telecommunications facilities throughout Europe, including the emerging Eastern European markets of Poland, Hungary, and the Czech and Slovak Republics. He also served as Chief Financial Officer for UPC’s parent company, United GlobalComm.
Earlier experience included finance and management positions for Jones Intercable, NationsBank Corp. and Mellon Bank.
