NRTC brings you a weather product developed by a team of scientists from the University of Oklahoma and the National Severe Storms Laboratory. It combines advanced weather models with data from multiple Doppler weather radars, and an exclusive lightning prediction network, giving you the power to make load forecasting decisions, safely allocate staff and proactively contact key accounts with detailed information before severe weather strikes.
Capabilities
ACCURACY: NRTC's innovative suite of software predicts hazardous weather such as lightning, tornados, snow and ice with precision one hour before it occurs. This package also features an exclusive Lightning Detection Service—including lightning prediction and a real-time lightning locator.
DEPENDABILITY: The system accurately predicts and alerts you to all hazardous weather conditions. WDT provides the severe weather's estimated arrival and departure time, so you can maximize your staff's efficiency.
CUSTOMIZABLE: Tailored information details your exact service area. The weather maps are completely interactive, even allowing you to add and remove map information such as highways, county and state lines, and key assets of your system.
EFFICIENT DISPATCH MANAGEMENT: The systems solves service issues quickly by enabling you to forecast problems and proactively manage crew and load requirements. Custom alerts also allow you and your staff maximum time to prepare for adverse weather.
ADDITIONAL REVENUES: NRTC's desktop weather system generates additional revenues for your utility because they can be packaged to your weather-dependent commercial members and commercial service organizations.

Distribution Cooperatives: NRTC's weather and lightning predictor program is customized for the needs of your utility. This suite includes custom mapping, real-time radar, short-term prediction technologies, optional alerting and 1-hour to 7-day forecasting. Training and customization is included.
Local Business Members: All of the features included in the Distribution Cooperatives package above can also be customized for your members' daily operations.
Principle Seven: This add-on feature from NRTC provides weather alerts for up to 15 assistance-based community organizations.
Accuracy
ALERTING: NRTC's site-specific alerting system not only tracks tornados, lightning, hail, heavy rains, severe thunderstorms, winter weather and high winds, but it can send advance alerts to you via email, cell phone or pager.
STORM PREDICTOR: This highly accurate radar uses an animated graphical display to forecast the weather up to one hour in advance.
LIGHTNING PREDICTOR: This unique WDT feature not only provides an exact strike map but accurately predicts 99 percent of lightning strikes ten minutes in advance.
LOAD MANAGEMENT: This software forecasts most weather parameters such as temperature, relative humidity and wind direction/speed so your utility can be proactive and make much more accurate long-term load management decisions.
