Randy Sukow

The NRTC Board has accepted four candidates seeking the Region 3, 4 and 6 positions on the NRTC Board of Directors. Representatives from all Class A electric cooperative NRTC members will vote on all three positions. Eligible voters will gather at the NRTC annual meeting at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA, on Feb. 26. NRTC holds the electric-industry portion of its annual meeting concurrently with the NRECA annual meeting and TechAdvantage Conference and Expo.

Incumbent board member Robert L. (Bob) Hance, president and CEO and Midwest Energy Cooperative, Cassopolis, MI, and Shannon Thom, CEO of Henry County Rural Electric Membership Corporation, New Castle, IN, are seeking the Region 4 slot serving the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. George Kitchens, general manager of Joe Wheeler Electric Membership Corp., Trinity, AL, and Tim Mergen, CEO and general manager of Meeker Cooperative Light & Power Association Litchfield, MN, are unopposed incumbents seeking new terms for Regions 3 (Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee) and 6 (Minnesota, North and South Dakota) respectively.

All NRTC electric and telephone cooperative members will receive a Notice of Annual Meeting communication via email in early January. The notice will include complete voting information and details of other NRTC activities at TechAdvantage and NTCA’s Rural Telecom Industry Meeting & Expo, Feb. 5-8, also in San Diego.
