The FCC has authorized two more members of the NRTC Phase I RDOF Consortium to receive universal support through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund. In a Public Notice issued this week, the FCC authorized $200 million in RDOF awards. This included nearly $7.5 million dollars over 10 years for Consortium member Pear Networks, LLC to provide service to more than 4,500 locations in Vermont. The Commission in an earlier Public Notice announced more than $280,000 to Jasper County REMC in Indiana to cover 262 locations.

The FCC has previously approved a number of other NRTC Consortium members for RDOF awards. So far, the FCC says, it has “committed” more than $5.2 billion to reverse auction winners in 47 states and one U.S. territory. The Commission appears to be near the end of consideration for RDOF Phase I awards.

NRTC Funding Services will continue to monitor RDOF announcements. NRTC is also tracking additional state and federal funding programs and sharing enrolment information as it becomes available.
