NRTC Cybersecurity Webinar to Demonstrate a Live Hack in Progress

For a real-world look at the hacker’s vocation, NRTC Managed Services invites members to a memorable webcast – “Cybersecurity – Now It’s Personal!” The presentation will feature a live demonstration of a cyberattack in progress. We encourage all NRTC members to register now for the 90-minute session, which begins at 10:30 Eastern Time on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Representatives from IT firm Dynetics will lead the demonstration – Greg Jackson, the company’s senior cyber risk advisor and Craig Mitchell, senior cyber analyst.  An “ethical hacker” will show in real time how those with bad intentions enter the commands that make their intended victims vulnerable. The demonstration will include frequent switches between the hacker’s screen and the victim’s screen to follow the order of the attack. The presentation will also cover common weaknesses in security that lead to attacks.

The webinar is part of NRTC’s observance of October’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) as well as an ongoing effort to help members guard against online attacks. NRTC has joined with many leading organizations in the online world to sign on as a NCSAM Champion for the month.
