March 19, 2020 (Herndon, VA and Rome, GA) — NRTC continually looks to strengthen the technology solutions we offer to better meet the evolving needs of the members we serve. It’s core to our Member driven. Technology focused. mission.

In that spirit, we are pleased to announce the acquisition of CrowdFiber, the software leader in broadband marketing and online sales automation. Service providers of every size and stage use CrowdFiber to analyze their geographic markets, deliver a competitive online buying experience, and grow smarter. CrowdFiber providers are currently evaluating or selling services to more than 10 million addresses across the country and have collected more than half a million requests for service. CrowdFiber is creating more than $1 million in lifetime value for Internet service providers every day.

This acquisition will strengthen NRTC’s Broadband solutions, focused on helping electric and telephone members evaluate, build, operate, and grow their broadband business. To date, NRTC has helped over 175 members evaluate the feasibility of their project. We’ve helped – or are currently helping – more than 30 members deploy broadband in the communities they serve, connecting 550,000 rural homes and businesses and representing $1.8 billion in rural infrastructure investment. The CrowdFiber platform will help members attract and retain subscribers and provide the tools needed to expand their businesses continually. And, since we are deeply committed to this mission, CrowdFiber will continue to work with other companies and consultants who are assisting rural broadband providers.

For NRTC members who have been offering telecom services for years, CrowdFiber will allow members to expand online and direct sales, use enhanced address checking and speed test collection tools, manage electronic and print marketing, and streamline the collection of signed contracts. NRTC staff is already managing and utilizing CrowdFiber on behalf of many of the 300+ telephone and telecom members who are subscribed to our Managed Services solutions and we anticipate this will increase as we merge our companies.

In addition to deepening our Broadband and Managed Services Solutions, CrowdFiber will enhance other solutions we offer, including our Mobile and Smart Grid solutions. We look forward to exploring those opportunities with, and for, our members.

NRTC is already leveraging CrowdFiber mapping capabilities to help members submit winning bids for the Rural Development and Opportunity Fund (RDOF).

CrowdFiber will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary headquartered in Rome, GA. Current CrowdFiber customers will see no changes to their service or the staff that supports them. A separate, more detailed communication will be sent to current customers shortly.

If you’d like to learn more about how CrowdFiber can benefit your business and the customers you service, schedule an exploratory call or contact your NRTC regional representative.
