Heading into 2016 NRTC will launch OtterTV, an over-the-top solution (OTT) with a unique twist – it’s delivered on the local providers’ broadband networks and not via the Internet. OtterTV is a collaborative project of NRTC and its wholly owned subsidiary, NeoNova.
The NTCA, The Rural Broadband Association’s Fall Conference in Boston was a very busy conference for NRTC and NeoNova at their video showcase. Mark Chambers, director of Sales, spent time talking with dozens of companies about the NRTC’s latest video plans, including OtterTV.
“Many companies are looking for ways to introduce a lower-cost video product,” Chambers said. “Fueled by consumer angst with increasing video package prices; companies want to be able to offer a breakaway product that has fewer channels and more flexibility. OtterTV meets those needs for both those who are in video today, as well as those who would like to introduce video to their current broadband offering.”
Many companies are actively discussing this OtterTV solution and evaluating their video budgets and strategic plans heading into 2016. NRTC’s video team is working with dozens of companies to plan launches of OtterTV in early 2016.
