NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association is inviting electric cooperatives to its 2019 Cybersecurity Summit, Oct. 27-29. To further facilitate that, representatives from electric cooperatives can register for the Salt Lake City, UT, summit at the same discounted rate as NTCA members. NRTC is among the sponsors backing the three-day event, which offers electrics and telcos an opportunity to build their knowledge and pool their cybersecurity experiences.
The summit’s agenda will cover topics including cyber threat sharing among small network operators; the effectiveness of cybersecurity procedures among rural broadband providers, and the evolution of internet service providers into “managed service providers.” An expert from NISC will lead a session on how to build a “cybersecurity culture” within rural network operators. On Oct. 27, Nokia will lead a pre-conference session about cybersecurity-related regulations, insurance and crisis management strategies.
NRTC electric members interested in attending the summit should contact NTCA at (703) 351-2118 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
