In response to the high interest in broadband funding throughout government and industry, NRTC has created a Funding Services group to assist members acquire available loans and grants. It is expanding on already extensive experience in the area, including the drive to help rural broadband providers receive funding through last year’s Rural Digital Opportunities Fund (RDOF) reverse auction.

With Recent Funding, “No Excuse” for Lack of Rural Broadband Coverage

Featured guest speakers, including Senators Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Mark Warner (D-VA), discussed the current levels of funding for broadband projects and what additional federal broadband assistance to expect in the future during USTelecom’s online Broadband Investment Forum.

Ideas for Co-op BEAD Program Preparations

NRTC’s Teresa Ferguson recently led a CFC-sponsored webcast with some advice for co-ops interested in the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program. She emphasized the need to build relationships with the state authorities who will be accepting BEAD applications for funding broadband projects. She also said to be sure to provide the state and FCC accurate broadband availability data to ensure that each state gets an adequate amount of funding.

The Opportune Time for Broadband Partnerships in Many Styles

NRTC, NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association and NRECA earlier this week led a webcast to promote fiber broadband partnerships. Each of the organizations have supported such partnerships for years, but rising demand for broadband and never-before-seen levels of federal support have brought them back into the forefront.
