The $42.5 Billion BEAD Program: The Good, The Bad & The Money – How to Position Yourself to Win Funding for Your Community

June 16, 2022 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Funding Alert

This event has concluded, but you can still watch a recording of the webinar at the link below.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has released the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) which sets the ground rules for the $42.5 Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. Before funding can reach providers, states’ broadband authorities must set procedures and ensure adherence to NTIA rules. Meanwhile, service providers can take a number of measures to prepare.

This webinar will cover the pros and cons of the NTIA rules; what providers should consider, and steps you can take now as the BEAD program transitions to state implementation.

We’ll hear from experts including:

  • Mike Romano, Sr. Vice President of Industry Affairs & Business Development, NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association;
  • Brian O’Hara, Senior Director Regulatory Issues – Telecom & Broadband, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA);
  • Tamarah Holmes, Ph.D, Director, Virginia Office of Broadband & State Broadband Leadership Network Member; and
  • Doug Dawson, President, CCG Consulting, author of POTs and PANs.
